About Shaleen Shanbhag

Shaleen Shanbhag is of counsel at Miracle Mile Law Group. She has extensive experience representing plaintiffs in individual and class actions at all stages of litigation in federal and state court.

Before joining Miracle Mile Law, Ms. Shanbhag was Senior Clinical Attorney at the UCLA School of Law’s Human Rights Litigation Clinic, where she represented plaintiffs in federal court actions involving prisoners’ rights, due process, and freedom from seizure. Prior to working at UCLA Law, Ms. Shanbhag was a partner at the renowned civil rights firm Hadsell Stormer & Renick LLP, based in Pasadena, CA. During her time with the firm, she successfully represented employees in a wide variety of workplace disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower retaliation. Ms. Shanbhag litigated numerous cases resulting in multi-million dollar settlements, including a jury verdict in a Monterey County Jail wrongful death lawsuit resulting in a $2.875 million settlement (Pajas v. County of Monterey, et al.), and a jury verdict in a fatal LAPD shooting case resulting in a $1.95 million settlement (Tchayou v. City of Los Angeles, et al.). She has also successfully argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

For her early accomplishments, Ms. Shanbhag has been recognized in the National Trial Lawyer’s Top 40 Under 40 and selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.

Ms. Shanbhag began her legal career at the ACLU of Southern California and clerked for the Honorable John E. Dowdell of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley and UC Irvine School of Law.
